- The Birth of Gordonstoun School
Gordonstoun School was founded in 1931 by Dr. Kurt Hahn.
The Duke of Gordon had invited him to establish a school on his estate in Scotland, so he set up Gordonstoun School on the grounds of the historic Gordon Castle.
The school was initially intended to be a preparatory school for university but quickly evolved into a boarding school for boys aged four to eighteen.

The most famous part of the uniform is the Moray Badge.
Distinguished by its four silver bars that represent the school’s four houses (Gordon, Bruce, Scott, and Stewart), it has become a symbol of Gordonstoun School.
